again. (Blake in the hospital right before checking out, after stroke. Notice his eyebrow and forhead, mostly full movement back. He was always making sure it moved up and got wrinkles in it because right after the stroke, it didn't move.)
Our visits went well. We decided to choose Doctor number 2, Dr. Selzman. He is a heart surgeon at the University of Utah hospital. Blake will have surgery on Wednesday, September 16. We felt more confident with getting his hole closed the old fashion way because of the size of his hole. His hole is about 1.5 to 1.7 cm. Which is a large hole according to all the doctors. Dr. Selzman will do the minimally invasive open heart surgery. They make an incision about 4 inches big on his chest and a small one on his leg. Blake does have to be on the heart and lung machine during surgery and that worries him a little. But Dr. Selzman makes the whole surgery sound very routine. Oh, and they named Blakes stroke. It was a cryptogenic stroke.

I use to work in the Operating Room at the U and you are in good hands. That's the only place I would get that kind of surgery done. Your awesome Melissa...I love you positive attitude you always have!

It's so nice to know that he's doing well & that he now has his surgery scheduled. How are you doing, Melissa?
I'm glad a date has been set for the surgery so he will be back on the road to full health again soon. How long will his hospital stay last? PLEASE don't tell me it's outpatient surgery!
PS - Jami trimmed my bangs for me this morning - remember I promised you that I wouldn't do it myself anymore? LOL
So glad to hear Blake is doing better and will be all fixed soon.
